This module is for Grades: 9-10 Welcome

In order to be a critical reader and thinker, it is vital that you master the skill of comparing and contrasting. This skill allows you to think deeply about the most important information, synthesize related concepts, reread for accuracy and precision, and clarify your thinking about the science content you are learning.  In this module you will compare and contrast the information gained in an initial piece of text with that gained from additional texts on the same science topic in order to deepen your understanding of the concept.

Module Objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Identify the central idea and key details in an initial piece of science text. 
  • Identify the central idea and key details in additional texts on the same topic.
  • Compare and contrast multiple sources in order to identify where the information supports or contradicts previous explanations of the same topic.
