Comparing and contrasting is an important skill to develop when reading multiple sources about science-related topics. This skill allows you to think deeply about the most important information, synthesize related concepts, reread for accuracy, and clarify your thinking about the content you are learning. In this module, you will compare and contrast the information gained in a text with that gained from a video and an additional text in order to deepen your understanding of the topic.

Module Objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Identify the central idea and key details in science texts on a given topic.
  • Identify the central idea and key details in a video related to the texts.
  • Compare and contrast the information gained from texts with that gained from watching a video on the same topic.
